“Chosen”

I got to work on a great web series called “Chosen” today.  My role was pretty dark.  A guy brought into prison after he killed someone.  The role required me to go to some pretty dark places.  As I sat there on set, all alone in a corner listening to my music, and staying where I needed to be emotionally, and waited for the shot to be set up, an actor kept interrupting me trying to figure out how we knew each other.  I politely told the actor I didn’t know, then put my headphones back in my ears and tried to stay in my dark place.  10 minutes later, a stylist did the same thing;  she must have seen the tears in my eyes and yet, she pushed on ahead, “Didn’t we work on (insert some title here) together?” I smiled sheepishly, “No”, I replied, trying to get away.  “Huh.  It’s funny, you look so familiar to me…” I went back to my corner, ( I stupidly ventured out to get a bottle of water) where the actor, the first guy was waiting for me…”I figured it out!  We were at the (again insert title here) audition.  Did you ever get that?”  We exchanged some  words about the audition and I went back to my work.  It was really hard to stay where I needed to be for that scene.  It was a great shoot, but man, it was hard!
